At Bluegreen, we value long-term relationships. Our collaboration with Aas Mek. Verksted is a great example of exactly that.
Ever since Bluegreen was established, Aas Mek has been an important customer for us. Today, they are our largest workshop client – and a partner we truly value.
"Aas Mek is a customer that’s both easy and enjoyable to work with. They are professional, long-term oriented, and highly structured. That gives us a strong foundation for delivering quality," say Kristoffer Rønning, Estimator and Project Developer, and Robin Kvilaas, Workshop Manager at Bluegreen.
Aas Mek, based in Vestnes on Norway’s west coast, is a family-owned company with a long tradition in shipbuilding – particularly known for advanced well boats serving the aquaculture industry.
Previously, much of the piping systems were built in galvanized steel. This can negatively impact water quality in the well boats, including elevated zinc levels.
"That’s where thermoplastics become a very good alternative. PE pipes are corrosion-resistant, do not affect water quality, and have a long service life. Simply put, it’s a more robust and predictable solution," Rønning explains.
A Selection of Products We Have Delivered to Aas Mek: Tanks and Ventilation Ducts
Recently, Bluegreen received a new order from Aas Mek related to the construction of a well boat.
The delivery includes circulation piping for both the engine room and pump room – in dimensions up to 500 mm. The work involves prefabricated pipe spools and highly complex custom adaptations.
In total, the project is estimated at around 900 workshop hours.
– These are technically demanding deliveries where we get to make good use of both our expertise and our capacity. At the same time, these are projects we know well, because we’ve done a lot of similar work before, says Rønning.
The collaboration between the two companies has been built step by step through several successful deliveries.
Among other things, Bluegreen has previously delivered:
Perforated ventilation ducts for well boats
Chemical tanks for onboard disinfection systems
Custom PE solutions tailored to maritime requirements
The common denominator is the need for durable solutions that can withstand harsh conditions – while also being easy to maintain.
“ Aas Mek is highly focused on quality and operational reliability. That suits us very well. We know what they expect, and they know what they’re getting. Kristoffer Rønning, Estimator and Project Developer, Bluegreen
One of the key strengths of the collaboration is the long-term planning horizon.
With strong activity levels and projects extending through 2027, the partnership provides both predictability and the opportunity to work systematically with capacity planning and deliveries.
"For us as a supplier, customers who think long-term are worth their weight in gold. It makes us better – and it makes the deliveries better," says Rønning.
For Bluegreen, strong customer relationships are about more than individual projects. They are built on trust, collaboration, and shared ambitions to deliver quality – every single time.
The partnership with Aas Mek is a great example of exactly that.
"This is a collaboration we are proud of, and one we look forward to developing further in the years ahead," Rønning concludes.
