Bluegreen delivers custom solution to Pure Salmon in Japan

Bluegreen has completed and delivered an extensive production of concrete wall penetrations for Pure Salmon’s new land-based aquaculture facility in Japan. The delivery forms part of a large-scale RAS-based facility for the production of Atlantic salmon.

This marks yet another international project where Bluegreen contributes critical infrastructure to sustainable food production.

In total, Bluegreen produced and delivered 522 PE concrete penetrations, tailored to water intake and process flow within the facility. The delivery covered a wide range of dimensions – from Ø63 to Ø900 – placing high demands on material quality, precision, and production logistics. With a tight delivery window set by the customer, it was essential to rapidly establish an efficient production line, with a clear focus on flow, capacity, and delivery reliability. “This delivery truly demonstrates the breadth of what we do in our workshop. There are many dimensions involved, strict quality requirements, and tight tolerances – and everything must function seamlessly when installed on the other side of the globe,” says Robin Kvilaas, Workshop Manager at Bluegreen.

From production to transport-ready delivery

The scope of work covered the entire value chain, from production and quality control to documentation, preparation, and packaging for air transport to Japan. In total, approximately 1,930 man-hours were invested in the project.

“There is a great deal of craftsmanship and technical expertise behind each individual penetration. For us, it’s about delivering solutions we know will withstand both the operational loads of the facility and the customer’s expectations. Seeing everything come together as planned gives the entire team a strong sense of professional pride,” Kvilaas adds.

A reliable partner in complex international projects

The facility in Japan will be the country’s largest RAS-based production plants for salmon and represents an important investment in securing local, sustainable food production in the region. Bluegreen’s delivery forms a central part of the facility’s technical infrastructure. The project is a strong example of Bluegreen’s ability to combine industrial capacity with tailored solutions – and of our role as a reliable partner in complex, international aquaculture projects.
