Finally, the day we've been waiting for has arrived: Thousands of happy salmon are now swimming in our first Marine Donut! Watch the video from SalMar's fish stocking.
The atmosphere was one of joy, emotion, and relief as we witnessed the fish stocking of the Marine Donut at Sekken off the coast of Molde on Friday afternoon. In brilliant sunshine, the wellboat arrived with thousands of 2.5 kg salmon. From Bluegreen, the entire leadership trio was present – Nils-Johan Tufte, Geir Andresen, and Elg Thunes. As project manager, Geir has spent a lot of time in Molde over the past six months. Now, the baton and responsibility for Marine Donut are passed on to Erlend Are Larsen, who is SalMar's operations manager at the facility.
"We are incredibly pleased with the stocking! The fish are calm and healthy, and they distribute well within the facility. The day after stocking, not a single dead fish has been recorded," says Geir.
