Bluegreen is strengthening the team and welcomes Jesper Sloth as our new Head of Procurement. With experience from finance, tech, and strategic procurement in major Nordic companies, he joins with a clear goal: to set up the procurement function for continued growth.
– I enjoy stepping into situations that are a bit unstructured and helping to systemize and build something that actually works in practice, says Sloth.
Jesper was born and raised in Porsgrunn and began his career at SpareBank 1 in Oslo after completing his studies at BI. From there, he moved on to roles including the payment solution Strex, before pursuing a master’s degree in Copenhagen.
After several years in sales and key account management, he made a deliberate choice:
– I got tired of sitting on “one side of the table.” I wanted to work more strategically and influence how companies actually spend their money.
That decision led him to TDC—Denmark’s equivalent of Telenor—where he worked with sourcing and strategic procurement within IT and technology. There, he was involved in major transformation projects, including changes to the IT stack.
At Bluegreen, he sees strong potential to elevate procurement from an operational function to a strategic one.
– Procurement is not just about ordering goods. It’s about how we work with suppliers, how we manage risk in the supply chain, and how we use our resources as efficiently as possible.
He highlights in particular:
stronger structure and systems
a clearer procurement strategy
a reduced supplier base to increase volume and improve terms
more strategic collaborations and partnerships
– If we get this right, we create a much stronger foundation for scaling further.
In recent years, Jesper has been living in Malmö with his Swedish wife, commuting daily to Copenhagen—one hour each way on crowded trains.
– That’s a lot of travel. When you do it every day, you really start to feel it.
Now, he is looking forward to a very different everyday life in Grenland:
– We’re a bit excited, of course. We’ve been used to big-city life in Copenhagen and Malmö. But it will be great to be closer to family—and to have a different kind of lifestyle.
With the move come new priorities:
– Less time in traffic and on trains, more time at home. Maybe a house, a garden, nature, and skiing. It’s a transition, but I think it will be a very good one.
Jesper got married in May, and his Swedish wife will move to Norway during the summer.
When the Head of Procurement position at Bluegreen appeared on Finn, it immediately caught his attention:
– It looked like an exciting opportunity. A growing company with ambition—and a need to build structure. That’s right up my alley.
His first weeks at Bluegreen have made a strong impression:
– There’s a real can-do attitude here. People are open, friendly, and eager to move forward. I think we have a very solid foundation to achieve a lot together.
He is also clear that change will be an important part of the journey:
– The biggest challenge is often not the systems—it’s change management. But if we do this right, we can build a procurement function that truly contributes to value creation across the company.
