Bluegreen has been commissioned to deliver a new and important component to pump supplier Ydra – a large, perforated pipe designed to improve water quality in closed containment systems with traditional tank geometry.
The pipe is currently under construction at our plastics workshop in Bamble and is custom-built to house a powerful pump from Ydra. The solution will be installed at the center of a closed containment unit to efficiently remove stagnant, oxygen-depleted water – a well-known challenge in closed systems with a cylindrical tank design.
"In traditional tank-shaped systems, poor water circulation often leads to an accumulation of low-quality water in the center, which can negatively impact fish welfare and production. This pump solution enables effective water flow in the core of the system, significantly improving water quality throughout," explains Geir Andresen, CCO at Bluegreen.
The project is a great example of how Bluegreen combines advanced plastics engineering and flexible manufacturing with innovative aquaculture solutions – in close collaboration with skilled partners like Ydra.
