We are thrilled to welcome Tommy Rasmussen as our new project manager! The 49 years old from Risør brings with him solid experience and a broad career background that we are eager to leverage.
Tommy began his career with a vocational certificate as a machinist but later chose to further his education. With technical college, a marketing economics degree from BI, and leadership studies at the University of Agder, he has built a broad foundation of expertise. He has held several responsible positions, including department head in telecommunications at Eltel Networks and project manager at Bandak Group.
"I have always been passionate about working with technology and development and wanted to return to the field now that the telecom industry is entering a new phase. Bluegreen represents something entirely new and exciting," Tommy says.
Tommy applied to Bluegreen because he wanted to be part of a forward-thinking and innovative industry.
"It’s unique to work for a company that takes on something no one has done before. I believe this will help me grow in new ways and offer exciting learning opportunities. It’s fascinating how thermoplastics can be used for large constructions, and the durability and recyclability of this material are incredible," he adds.
He looks forward to stepping into the role of project manager and has been given the responsibility of overseeing the construction of the 10K and 3.5K FishGLOBEs, which are scheduled for delivery before the summer.
Operations Director Sondre Thorsen is excited to have Tommy on board.
"We’re growing rapidly and have hired many new plastic welders over the past year. Now it’s crucial to strengthen our project management level to ensure efficient project execution, satisfied customers, and profitable operations. Both Tommy and Hilde, another newly hired project manager, have solid experience in project management and personnel oversight and are structured executors. These are exactly the kinds of profiles we need right now," says Sondre.
Tommy started his new job on Monday and has already had a positive first impression.
“ The people here are incredibly friendly, and I’ve been warmly welcomed. I commute from Risør and enjoy the drive with coffee, music, and podcasts. Tommy Rasmussen
When not at work, Tommy is an avid cyclist, spending up to 15 hours a week training. He has signed up for the demanding Jotunheimen Rundt cycling race and is looking forward to the challenge.
"I participated last year as well. It was grueling, but that sense of accomplishment when crossing the finish line was unbeatable! I can’t wait to experience it again," he says.
We’re confident that Tommy’s experience, energy, and determination will further strengthen Bluegreen, and we warmly welcome him to the team!
