Bluegreen was engaged as a subcontractor to Sterner in connection with a technical upgrade of the smolt facility for Salmon Evolution at Dale in Volda municipality. The project forms part of a broader initiative to improve water quality, operational reliability, and fish welfare at the facility.
The scope of work included the conversion of one existing tank from a traditional flow-through system to a hybrid solution, where multiple treatment technologies and process components are integrated to provide improved control of the water environment. The upgraded tank has a diameter of 18 meters, placing high demands on planning, precision, and execution.
Bluegreen’s delivery comprises piping works, installation, and adaptation of process equipment, carried out in close cooperation with Sterner as the main contractor. The work includes process piping in dimensions ranging from 75 mm to 500 mm, tailored for the installation of, among other things, CO₂ degassing units, drum filters, and oxygenation systems.
The solution established in this tank will serve as a pilot setup, with the potential for further upgrades of additional tanks should the desired improvements in water quality and operation be achieved.
The delivery has involved close coordination across technical disciplines and suppliers, which has been essential to achieving a successful result.
