Bluegreen was engaged as a subcontractor to Overhalla Betongbygg in connection with the construction of Grieg Seafood’s new land-based post-smolt facility in Adamselv, Finnmark. The project formed part of Grieg Seafood’s strategic initiative to improve fish welfare and achieve more sustainable production through increased use of post-smolt.
Bluegreen’s delivery comprised PE lining of fish tanks and the RAS facility in a comprehensive land-based aquaculture plant consisting of two post-smolt modules with large tank volumes. The facility was connected to Grieg Seafood’s existing smolt facility in Adamselv and designed for post-smolt production prior to transfer to sea.
The lining work was carried out under strict requirements for precision, quality, and documentation, and the solution was tailored to meet both biological and technical demands in modern land-based aquaculture. The delivery contributed to robust, hygienic, and operationally reliable tanks, with a strong focus on fish welfare, controlled production, and reduced biological risk.
The project is a strong example of Bluegreen’s expertise in thermoplastic solutions for land-based aquaculture, and of the company’s role as a reliable subcontractor in complex and technically demanding facilities.
