Welding of PE Pipes for Net-Pens

On short notice, Bluegreen contributed welding and quality assurance of PE rings that form the floating framework around open net-pens for Mørenot Aquaculture.

Project description

Bluegreen delivered welding services for the assembly of rings designed to keep open net-pens afloat for Mørenot Aquaculture.

The assignment started at short notice just before Pentecost and continued throughout the summer, ensuring that the pens could be delivered and installed on time.

Our scope of work included welding PE pipes with a diameter of 500 mm, forming the structural frames of the floating collar around the pens. The pipes were welded into precise ring structures, ready for mooring and installation in the net-pen system. We also took part in pressure and tightness testing of the pipes prior to welding, ensuring that the entire structure is watertight, robust, and fit for marine operation.
