PE 100-RC material supplied by AGRU takes reliability of the Marine Donut to the next level

Austrian company AGRU is one of the world's largest suppliers of thermoplastics. We have been closely collaborating with AGRU for several years, and they have supplied all the thermoplastic materials for Marine Donut.

Marine Donut, the closed-cage fish farming facility, is the world's largest construction made of thermoplastics, and AGRU has supplied exclusively high-grade PE 100-RC material!

Their Marketing Director, Harald Bachinger, made the trip to Bamble to witness the Donut live:

"We are extremely proud to be a part of this exciting project! Marine Donut is truly an innovative solution that can revolutionize the way fish farming is conducted. We believe closed-cage fish farming is the future - sustainable and profitable."

AGRU is a family-owned company with roots dating back to 1948. They provide piping systems, semi-finished products, concrete protection liners, and lining systems made from engineering plastics. Their application areas are diverse and include water and gas infrastructure, the energy sector, chemical and heavy industries, semiconductor and life sciences (PURAD), tank and apparatus building, maritime and aviation industries, civil engineering and mining, and building construction.

Sheets, pipes and fittings made of PE 100-RC

For the Marine Donut, AGRU has supplied all PE 100-RC components. These include pipes ranging in diameter from 20 to 1200 mm and sheets of various thicknesses. These PE 100-RC products are corrosion-free, shock and UV-resistant and are thus most suitable for marine applications. The volume itself is constructed using 20 - 30 mm sheets.

"In total, we have used several hundred sheets!" says Geir Andresen, the project manager for Marine Donut.

"AGRU has been a reliable and trustworthy partner for several years. Their products are of the highest quality, and they deliver quickly and smoothly. We greatly appreciate our collaboration with AGRU."
