It's just a few days left until Christmas, and yet another year is coming to an end. 2023 has truly been an eventful year for us! There has been a lot of heavy lifting, but also a year where we have achieved significant milestones.
The most pivotal milestone is the Marine Donut. The world's largest structure in thermoplastics, and a groundbreaking concept for floating closed aquaculture. The idea was conceived in 2015, and now the facility lies in the sea off Molde and is ready for fish. To say that our faith never wavered over these eight years would be an understatement, but we never gave up. Now, the product certification is in place!
A big thanks to SalMar as a patient and knowledgeable customer, all our great partners, and especially the fantastic team here at Bluegreen. You guys are amazing!
2023 is also the year when our presence in Canada has yielded tangible results. The province of Newfoundland and Labrador on Canada's east coast has granted us environmental approval to build Marine Donut. This milestone will contribute to our growing international presence. On the other coast, in British Columbia, we are also well underway in charting our growth.
The other parts of our business can also look back on a successful year. We have worked on several land-based aquaculture facilities, power plants, a CCS project, and infrastructure. The activity in our workshop has also been high, with the production of pump stations, ventilation ducts, and other custom projects.
