With this certification, Bluegreen strengthens its expertise in quality assurance of plastic-based water and wastewater systems, in line with the requirements from both vannstandard.no and the DVS guidelines.
Quality in water and wastewater infrastructure (VA) isn't just about robust materials – it’s also about expertise. Bluegreen is proud to congratulate our colleague Kristoffer Rønning on earning a new and in-demand certification: Inspector for Welded Plastic Joints in Municipal VA Systems, approved by NEMKO and developed by STITEC.
Kristoffer works as an Estimator and Project Developer at Bluegreen and is also an experienced vocational exam sensor in the plastic trade. With this certification, he has further strengthened his professional toolkit with specialized inspection expertise – enhancing the quality assurance in our projects even more.
“We work extensively with PE and other plastic materials in demanding projects. This certification gives me a clear framework and method for ensuring everything is executed – and documented – correctly,” says Kristoffer.

The certification covers inspection of both butt fusion and electrofusion joints in plastic pipes, and provides the competence to assess weld quality based on:
Destructive testing
Visual inspection
Log analysis
Field observations
Participants also learn how to follow up on inspection routines during delivery, assembly, and completion – and how to navigate the requirements of relevant standards and norms.
A key part of the certification is the ability to document and justify findings in accordance with the Norwegian Vannstandard and German DVS Merkblätter und Richtlinien. This means Kristoffer has received specific training on how to:
Assess weld quality based on national VA norms and NS standards (as defined by vannstandard.no)
Inspect log files and execution in accordance with the DVS 2207 welding guidelines
Use standardized checkpoints and tests (such as shear and peel tests) to validate quality
This provides a strong, formal foundation to ensure both the welding and documentation meet expectations – benefiting both customers and society.
“As plastic materials are used in more and more VA projects, having the right expertise is essential for ensuring quality. Control and competence are key – and I look forward to applying this in future projects,” Kristoffer says.
