Another year is coming to an end – our fourth full year of operations. It would be wrong to say the year has been all highs, but fortunately, there have been a lot more ups than downs. Here are some selected highlights.
Bamble municipality has been talking about "Gassveien" (Gas road) for over 50 years. Now, the construction is finally underway! We're involved in welding the new water pipeline.
The news of Google's establishment in Skien was received with great jubilation. The data center has a price tag of over 6 billion kroner, and Google estimates that the construction will employ over 4000 people. Bluegreen is one of the local companies that will benefit from the initiative.
Bluegreen is part of an exciting carbon capture project in Grenland called Grenland Industrial Carbon Capture and Storage (GICCS). The project involves 15 partners within industry, technology, and research and aims to reduce more than one million tons of CO2 emissions in the area.
Skanska won the contract to build the stretch between Fornebukrysset and Strand on the E18 West Corridor. The project also includes a new route for water and sewage. Bluegreen has been selected as the supplier for the plastic welding work.
The construction of NOAH's new facility for dewatering inorganic hazardous waste is progressing as planned. Bluegreen provides prefabrication and installation.
After approximately four years of construction, the residential and commercial project Clemenskvartalet in Bjørvika, Oslo, has been completed. Bluegreen has provided sea pipeline and plumbing work in connection with the energy center that supplies cooling and heating to the quarter.
NOAH is investing 300 million Norwegian kroner in constructing a new dewatering facility on Langøya. This means treatment capacity for inorganic hazardous waste until at least 2030.
Gammelkroppa Lax, owned by Fortum, has been producing cultured fish for Lake Vänern since the 1980s. Approximately 175,000 smolt are released annually. Now, a new climate-adapted facility is being constructed.
The carbon capture facility of Heidelberg Materials (formerly Norcem) in Brevik is making steady progress. We have been engaged to supply non-metallic piping and sea pipelines. Last week, the sea pipelines were installed.
- Our second year of operation is coming to an end. 2022 has become a year that has exceeded my expectations - and I'm not known for being modest! Watch a compilation of this year's highlights.
In August, we announced our engagement in the carbon capture facility being built at Norcem in Brevik. We have now commissioned to deliver the next phase of the project.
Drammen District Heating has supplied businesses and private individuals with district heating since 1984. They are now building a new energy center on Brakerøya in Drammen. Drammen will thus have Norway's largest heat pump facility located in one place!
For some industries, such as cement production, capturing and storing CO₂ is the only possibility to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The Norwegian government has therefore provided NOK 16.8 billion in support to the LANGSKIP project, which will establish a full-scale facility for CO₂ handling that includes the capture, transport and storage of CO₂.
Achilles Utilities NCE is a supplier register and qualification system used by the energy industry. It manages supplier information and risk in the supply chain, thus securing efficient procurement in line with EU regulations.
Throughout the autumn, we have had a team in place at idyllic Sandane by Nordfjord. Here we lay the foundation - literally - for the production of 4 million post-smolt annually.
In our workshop we produce various products in thermoplastic - whether it is for special design or tailoring. The advantage of choosing thermoplastic for your product is that it is maintenance-free, very durable and without risk of leakage. An added benefit is the recyclability of the material.
The trend has been notable for several years. Land-based smolt and post-smolt plants are becoming larger and more complex - and also deliver better on most parameters. This development calls for top performing suppliers, and we are proud to be part of the team of specialists when SalMar builds a new hatchery at Tjuin in Malm.
StartBANK is a common register of suppliers to the construction industry. The purpose of StartBANK is to contribute to the use of serious suppliers in the industry, and ensure a fair competition on equal terms.

Ok, we're a bit of a nerd when it comes to plastic fusion. So the mood was high when we received a completely awesome new machine last week - actually the only one of its kind in Scandinavia! The McElroy top model: Tracstar 1200.
Like all industries, plastic fusion is also constantly evolving. Some are skeptical of change and new technology, while others embrace it. We at Bluegreen belong to the latter group. We want to put High Force Fusion on the agenda.
We know from experience that two things are crucial for the success of a start-up: the right partners and ongoing solid control of the economy. That is why we have hired Erik Ritch-Reinfjord from BDO as our CFO. We have a fantastic first quarter behind us, and are poised to turn over tens of millions in the start-up year. In this article from Finansavisen, Erik and Nils-Johan talk about the collaboration.
